The space between matters.
What if the space between ceremonies were given as much care as the ceremonies themselves?
Buen Camino is a five-day spiritual pilgrimage created to give the journey room to unfold.
Room to arrive and prepare. Room for prayer and relationship. Room to receive the sacrament. Room to rest, reflect and integrate before entering ceremony again. And room to consider how what is received will be carried home.
At the center of the journey are a cacao ceremony and two Yagé (ayahuasca) ceremonies, held by Agape as sacraments within an interfaith practice of prayer, live medicine music and sacred silence. But ceremony is only part of Buen Camino.
Only 10 participants are welcomed into each gathering.
DAY ONE
The Invitation
Arrive. Settle into the land and the community.
Your personalized journey begins at Golden Hill’s House of Essence, with intention setting, a personalized scent experience and a BioWell reading to establish baseline data for your time together.
That evening, we gather for an opening cacao ceremony as we cross the threshold from everyday life into retreat.
DAY TWO
Preparing the Vessel
Prayer, reflection, relationship and time to prepare create the foundation for the first Yagé ceremony.
That evening, we gather in seated prayer, live medicine music and sacred silence.
DAY THREE
Integration
After the first ceremony, there is nowhere to rush.
The day creates space to integrate what has arisen through nourishment, reflection, music, relationship and rest. Golden Hill also introduces the personalized restorative and relaxation therapies recommended for you, creating an individualized rhythm of care within the larger retreat journey.
DAY FOUR
The Crossing
Prayer, relationship and time in nature lead toward the second Yagé ceremony.
We return to the sacrament with the experience of the preceding days already becoming part of the journey.
DAY FIVE
Returning Home
The attention turns toward integration, prayer and the road ahead.
Together, we consider not only what happened during Buen Camino, but how the experience can be carried into relationships, practices and ordinary life after leaving Golden Hill.

Buen Camino brings together Agape Church for the Soul, Mind & Body and Golden Hill Retreat Center, each holding a distinct part of the five-day pilgrimage.
Agape tends to the spiritual and sacramental journey. Golden Hill tends to the environment, hospitality and personalized restorative experience surrounding it.
Together, they create something neither was intended to offer alone: a journey with room to prepare, receive, integrate and return.
AGAPE
The spiritual and sacramental path
Agape brings the spiritual framework of Buen Camino through prayer, music, preparation, relationship, community and integration.
Yagé is held as sacrament within an interfaith practice that welcomes each person to pray to the God of their choice. Ceremonies are held in seated prayer, with live medicine music, sacred silence and space for integration.
Agape’s role extends beyond the ceremonies themselves, helping hold the spiritual arc before, throughout and after the five days together.
GOLDEN HILL
The restorative and hospitality path
Golden Hill provides the setting in which Buen Camino unfolds: accommodations, nourishing meals, heart-centered hospitality, House of Essence and personalized restorative and relaxation experiences.
Beginning with the personalized House of Essence experience and BioWell baseline reading, Golden Hill helps shape an individualized path of care that continues through the restorative experiences recommended during the retreat.
Golden Hill also supports the continuing-care journey as participants prepare to return home.
Spiritual depth and restorative care, given time to work together.
Buen Camino is intentionally small, spacious and personal. Rather than filling five days with as many experiences as possible, Agape and Golden Hill create a rhythm of prayer, sacrament, relationship, rest, personalized care and integration.
Everything is part of the journey.
Your Buen Camino experience extends beyond the five days at Golden Hill. Preparation begins before you arrive, continues through the retreat, and is supported as you return home.

Buen Camino is not designed around consuming as many ceremonies, therapies or experiences as possible.
It asks something different: that you arrive willing to slow down, participate, listen, pray, be in relationship and give what arises the time and attention it deserves.
There is no promise about what you will experience or what the journey will reveal. The invitation is simply to walk it with sincerity.

In 2027, Buen Camino will welcome three intimate groups of 10 participants for four nights and five days at Golden Hill Retreat Center in Coldspring, Texas.

Registration closes 30 days before each gathering to provide time for the preparation process before arrival.
Recommended Reciprocity
Buen Camino is offered through Agape’s donation-based model. Your minimum donation supports the complete journey, including preparation before arrival, five days and four nights at Golden Hill, the sacramental and restorative experiences held during the retreat, and integration support after you return home.

The Early Bird opportunity is based on the first 10 approved participants who reserve their place. There is no calendar-based Early Bird deadline.

Reserving your place
Applying does not by itself reserve a place.
Your place is secured after approval and receipt of either your applicable minimum donation paid in full or your cleared first installment.
All funds must be received at least 30 days before arrival.
For the Early Bird 2-payment option, the first $1,500 payment serves as the reservation deposit. The remaining $1,500 is due within 60 days of the first payment to maintain the $3,000 Early Bird minimum donation, and no later than 30 days before arrival.
Accommodations: Your Buen Camino minimum donation includes accommodations at Golden Hill. Additional accommodation options may be available. Accommodation level is the only optional upgrade within Buen Camino.

Yagé (ayahuasca) is an important sacrament within Buen Camino, but it is not the whole of the journey.
Buen Camino is a five-day spiritual pilgrimage centered on prayer, preparation, sacrament, relationship, restorative care and integration. A cacao ceremony and two Yagé ceremonies are held within a broader arc that begins before arrival and continues after you return home.

Five days allow time to arrive, prepare, enter ceremony, rest, integrate, receive personalized restorative care, return to ceremony and begin preparing for home without rushing from one experience to the next.

The intention of Buen Camino is not to fit as many ceremonies as possible into a retreat.
Two ceremonies create room for preparation before, integration afterward, and time for what arises to be met with prayer, relationship, rest and reflection before entering ceremony again.

Agape holds Yagé as a sacrament within an interfaith practice of seated prayer, live medicine music, sacred silence and integration.
We are facilitators, not shamans, and we do not represent our ceremonies as traditional Shipibo practice. Participants are welcomed to pray to the God of their choice.
