Volunteer with Agape
Service Is One of the Deepest Forms of Integration
Many of the people who serve at Ágape once arrived seeking healing, guidance, or community themselves. After experiencing the work firsthand, they felt called to return, not simply to attend another retreat, but to help create that same experience for someone else.
Volunteering is an opportunity to practice humility, reciprocity, and service while supporting the community that continues to support you.
Whether you're welcoming a new participant, preparing a meal, tending the grounds, or helping behind the scenes, every act of service becomes part of the ceremonial container we hold together.
Volunteer Eligibility
To preserve the quality, culture, and safety of our retreats, volunteer opportunities are available to members who have already become familiar with the Ágape experience.
To qualify as a volunteer, you must:
Be an active member of Ágape Church.
Have completed at least two Ágape retreats.
Demonstrate reliability, humility, and a sincere desire to serve.
Be approved by the Ágape leadership team.
Volunteer opportunities are limited and vary based on the needs of each retreat.
Room & Board Donation
Volunteers are asked to make a $150 donation to help cover lodging and meals during the retreat.
This contribution helps offset the cost of hosting volunteers while allowing the church to continue offering meaningful opportunities to serve.
Volunteering is an opportunity to give back to the community. It is not intended as a discounted alternative to attending retreat.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteer assignments vary from retreat to retreat and are based on the needs of the community.
Responsibilities may include:
Welcoming and assisting participants
Preparing retreat and ceremony spaces
Kitchen and hospitality support
Maintaining shared spaces
Setup and cleanup throughout the weekend
Assisting the leadership team wherever needed
Every role contributes to the experience of everyone attending.
Volunteer Expectations & Guidelines
Serving at Ágape is both a privilege and a responsibility. Our volunteers help create a safe, welcoming, and prayerful environment for every participant.
As a volunteer, you agree to:
Arrive on time and remain for the duration of your assigned volunteer commitment.
Serve with humility, flexibility, and a willingness to assist wherever needed.
Follow the direction of retreat leadership throughout the weekend.
Uphold the Ágape Church Code of Ethics & Conduct.
Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all participants.
Refrain from behavior that disrupts the retreat environment or distracts from those we are serving.
Help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming retreat spaces.
Communicate promptly if circumstances prevent you from fulfilling your volunteer commitment.
Volunteer assignments may change throughout the retreat based on the needs of the community.
Ceremony Participation
While volunteers often participate in portions of the retreat experience, their primary responsibility is to serve the community.
Depending on the needs of the retreat, volunteers may spend portions of the weekend assisting participants or supporting retreat operations rather than participating in every activity.
We ask each volunteer to approach service with the understanding that the experience of those attending comes first.
A Community Built Through Service
One of the most meaningful expressions of integration is returning to serve.
When we give back to the community that once supported us, we strengthen not only future retreats, but our own spiritual practice as well.
Every meal prepared, every room cared for, every participant welcomed, and every quiet act of service becomes part of the prayer that makes Ágape possible.
Service Begins with Gratitude
Every retreat is made possible by people who choose to serve with humility, presence, and love.
If Ágape has been a meaningful part of your journey, volunteering is one way to give back to the community that once welcomed and supported you. Whether your contribution is seen or unseen, every act of service helps create the space where others may encounter healing, reflection, and authentic connection.
We believe some of the deepest integration comes through serving others.
If you've completed at least two Ágape retreats and feel called to support future gatherings, we'd love to hear from you.
