Agape Ayni
Collective Reciprocity for Our Spiritual Community
Ayni is the Andean principle of sacred reciprocity, translated from the Quechua language as “Today for you, tomorrow for me.” At Ágape Church, it represents our shared responsibility to sustain the sacred spaces, ceremonies, gatherings, and prayers that hold us all together.
Participation in Ayni remains voluntary. It is not a requirement for membership, but a way to keep our spiritual family strong and our work sustainable. It allows our community overhead to be met little by little, without placing pressure on retreat attendance, and puts the future of our community directly in the hands of its members.
Suggested Contribution
Based on our current member base and the needs of our community, we suggest a donation of $50–$74/month, though any contribution that supports expanding access through Ayni is welcome.
Our Goal: As Ayni grows to 400 monthly members, with contributions ranging from small support gifts to our suggested sustaining level, retreats move toward a voluntary donation model and the sliding scale expands to $500–$900.
Why Ayni?
Sacred Reciprocity: Giving today ensures that tomorrow’s needs are met for all. In the spirit of Ayni, each contribution helps create greater access for our spiritual community.
Example Impact: For every 60 members contributing $50/month, the retreat sliding scale expands by $100 for all future participants, whether or not they participate in the Ayni program.
Transparency: The suggested contribution is calculated from our real needs, shared across the community by those who choose to walk this path together. As our needs are met, our offerings become more accessible. As generosity grows beyond those needs, we expand our offerings to reflect the abundance of our community.
